Members Recital and Dinner, May 2023
On Sunday, May 21, Treasure Coast Chapter members and supporters gathered in the sanctuary of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Fort Pierce for the annual Members Recital. Two chapter scholarship recipients also participated. Steve Giddens, outgoing Dean, provided refreshments at a reception following the event.
Hauptwerk Demonstration, February 2023, and Dedication of the Ahlborn-Galanti Organ at Christchurch, Vero Beach
As part of the dedication of the Ahlborn-Galanti organ at Christ Church in Vero Beach, a lecture-demonstration was presented by Baden Griffin, donor, and Brady Johnson, Organist and Choir Master. The lecture included descriptions of an American E.M. Skinner organ, a French Cavaille-Coll organ, the 1741 Albertus Hinsz Dutch organ from the Netherlands and an English Brindley-Foster that can be played virtually using Hauptwerk software. Brady chose appropriate repertoire to perform on each virtual organ. Joseph Rumsberger, an organ student, assisted Brady as a digital registrant on a laptop computer.
